This policy explains how StatViewer handles your information. Our commitment: monitoring data is processed fully on-device - no ads, no telemetry, Standard has no account feature; Pro's optional email account is recommended but not required, and we never collect or upload monitoring data.
1. Scope
This policy applies to the StatViewer Windows desktop application ("the Software"). By downloading, installing or using the Software you acknowledge and agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Local processing
All hardware metrics are collected and displayed on your device - no telemetry, no ads, Standard has no account feature; Pro's optional email account is recommended but not required and no collection of personal files. Monitoring data is never uploaded. Standard is fully offline; Pro connects only for activation, authorization checks, version checks, announcements and optional account actions.
3. Network capability
The Standard MSIX manifest declares no internetClient capability, so Standard is fully offline. Pro (MSI/ZIP) is a desktop app that only connects for activation, authorization checks, version checks, announcements and optional account actions.
4. Local data & files
The Software only stores a small amount of data locally: settings, the local authorization data required for Pro licensing and device migration, and local account state if the optional account feature is used. These files stay on your device and are never uploaded or synced.
5. Device and account information (Pro only)
Pro online authorization uses one-way hashed CPU / motherboard anchors for licence management, device migration and reinstall recovery. Raw hardware identifiers are never displayed or uploaded, and the legacy Install ID is no longer used. The optional email account is recommended but not required and, when used, collects only the email, verification state, account credential, security-notice preference and device remark required for account management, support lookup and security notices. Standard collects no device identifier and has no account feature.
6. FPS monitoring
FPS monitoring subscribes to Windows display kernel events via ETW and requires local administrator privilege. It is used only to calculate foreground-app FPS and 1% Low, and does not read personal files or content.
7. Permissions
runFullTrust (MSIX): the Standard edition declares runFullTrust to read local hardware performance counters, WMI and sensor data; it grants no network or remote capability. Standard declares no internetClient capability. Administrator privilege (optional, Pro only): FPS monitoring (ETW) needs administrator rights, and Pro may optionally install the PawnIO kernel driver for CPU/GPU temperature and power (with UAC confirmation). Standard never requests elevation, shows no UAC prompt and installs no drivers.
8. Local logs
The Save Logs action exports the last 10 minutes of local runtime logs to a location you choose, only when you click it, to help with troubleshooting. Logs are never uploaded automatically.
9. Disk Cleanup
Disk Cleanup only launches the Windows cleanmgr program for the system drive. It does not scan, read or upload your file contents; the actual cleanup items are confirmed in the Windows UI.
